Three valleys, two mountain nights, and a motor that makes the passes enjoyable.
Stops
Villages and passes in riding order, with the altitudes we record for each day. A route overview rather than a GPS trace: the line follows roads and tracks between the stops, so where a day crosses a pass on mule paths the drawn line takes the nearest rideable way round and will read longer than the distance we quote. Trails between stops vary with conditions and with your group.
A 3-day Atlas Mountains e-bike tour that links the Azzaden, Ouirgane and Amizmiz valleys, the greenest country in the High Atlas, without any of the suffering the climbs would normally involve.
This is the middle option in our e-bike range. It gives you two full nights in the mountains rather than one, so you get the evenings: the light going off the peaks, dinner with the family who runs the gîte, and the quiet that comes after the generators go off.
The riding is easy to moderate on dirt roads and wide tracks. The one genuinely technical section is the 6km climb out of Ouirgane on day three, and that is exactly where the motor pays for itself. Anybody who can ride a bicycle can do this trip.
Day 1
Marrakech → Imlil → Azzaden Valley
Hotel pickup in Marrakech and transfer to Imlil. After a bike fit and a briefing on the assistance modes, the day opens with a climb — not a hard one, but enough to check the motor is doing what you expect before the trail narrows. There is mint tea and biscuits at the pass. From there the route traverses into the Azzaden past a string of villages, with the river below you most of the way.
Day 2
Azzaden Valley → Ouirgane
Out of the high valley and down into Ouirgane, through more Berber villages than you can count. This is the day people remember for the ordinariness of it — bread ovens, school runs, someone’s grandmother waving from a doorway — rather than for any single view. Walnut and cherry terraces early, red earth and olive by the end.
Day 3
Ouirgane → Amizmiz → Marrakech
On the bikes at nine, because the day starts with a technical 6km climb out of Ouirgane and it is better done before the heat. That climb is the one place on this trip where the motor genuinely earns its keep. At the top the country changes completely. The green ridges give way to the dry, village-dotted plains around Amizmiz. Lunch by the river, then the transfer back to Marrakech.
The riding season is March–November. Outside it the high passes are either under snow or too hot to enjoy, so we do not run it rather than run it badly. Every departure is private, on dates you choose.

Village guesthouses need booking, so give us a few weeks' notice where you can. Tell us your dates and we will confirm quickly.
Same terrain and the same standard of riding. The 6-day version simply goes further west and adds the Ouirgane and Asni valleys with more time in each. If you have the week, take the 6-day. If you have a long weekend, this is the one.
Every gîte we use has mains electricity. We charge overnight and carry charged spares in the support vehicle as backup.
Simple and clean. Twin rooms with beds and blankets, shared or private bathrooms with hot showers, and a communal salon where dinner is served. They are family homes that take guests, not hotels — which is the point.
