Stops
Villages and passes in riding order, with the altitudes we record for each day. A route overview rather than a GPS trace: the line follows roads and tracks between the stops, so where a day crosses a pass on mule paths the drawn line takes the nearest rideable way round and will read longer than the distance we quote. Trails between stops vary with conditions and with your group.
This day mountain bike tour from Marrakech is the fastest way to get from the city onto genuine Atlas trails. We pick you up at your hotel or riad at 9am, drive an hour south into Toubkal National Park, and have you riding by mid-morning.
The route runs from Imlil into the Imenane valley on mule paths and dirt tracks, with a long descent back through the Asni valley. It is graded easy to moderate. There is climbing, but we use the support vehicle for the steepest sections if the group prefers. Lunch is with a Berber family in Ikkiss, which for most people ends up being the part they remember.
You are back at your hotel by around 5pm. It works well as a first day in Morocco, or as the one active day in an otherwise city-based trip.

Pickup at 9am and an hour’s drive to Imlil at 1,740m, where the bikes are waiting. We climb steadily towards the Tizi n'Tamatert pass at 2,300m. The vehicle is there if you would rather save your legs for the descent. From the pass a long trail traverses into the Imenane valley through a string of villages, and we stop for lunch with a family in Ikkiss. The afternoon is mostly downhill, dropping through the Asni valley on dirt tracks and mule paths back to the vehicle. Marrakech by around 5pm.
This one runs all year. Day rides are private departures on the dates you choose — there is no fixed calendar to fit around and no strangers added to make up numbers.

No. Most people who ride it are regular cyclists rather than mountain bikers. The surfaces are loose in places and there is a long descent, but nothing technical is forced on you and the guide sets the pace.
The support vehicle follows the whole route. Plenty of people ride the flat sections, take the vehicle up the pass, and then ride the entire descent. That is a completely normal way to do this day.
Cycling shorts, a breathable top, sunglasses, sun cream and a water bottle. Stiff-soled shoes help. We provide the bike, helmet and a bike-mounted repair kit.
Yes, from any hotel or riad in the city. If your riad is deep in the medina where the van cannot reach, we will meet you at the nearest square. We will tell you exactly where when you book.
