Villages and passes in riding order, with the altitudes we record for each day. A route overview rather than a GPS trace: the line follows roads and tracks between the stops, so where a day crosses a pass on mule paths the drawn line takes the nearest rideable way round and will read longer than the distance we quote. Trails between stops vary with conditions and with your group.
Overview
This e-bike day tour in the Atlas Mountains gives you the whole High Atlas experience in a single day, with the climbing handled by a Bosch motor. We collect you from your Marrakech hotel at 9am and you are riding inside Toubkal National Park by mid-morning.
From Imlil at 1,740m you climb to the Tizi n'Tamatert pass at 2,300m. On a normal bike that is an hour of hard work; on an e-MTB it is a pleasant forty minutes with the view getting better every switchback. Then you traverse the Berber valley of Imenane, stop for lunch with a family in Ikkiss, and descend through the Asni valley back to the vehicle.
Graded easy. If you can ride a bicycle, you can do this day.

What the day looks like
Marrakech to Tizi n'Tamatert and the Imenane valley
Marrakech → Imlil → Tizi n'Tamatert → Imenane → Asni → Marrakech
Pickup at 9am from your hotel and an hour’s drive into Toubkal National Park. We fit the e-bikes at Imlil village (1,740m) and run through the assistance modes. The climb to the Tizi n'Tamatert pass at 2,300m takes about forty minutes with assist, and from the top you look straight down the Imenane valley. The traverse takes you through half a dozen villages linked by irrigation channels and terraces, and we stop in Ikkiss to eat with a Berber family — tagine, bread baked that morning, mint tea. The afternoon descends through the Asni valley on dirt track back to the waiting vehicle. Marrakech by around 5pm.

This one runs all year. Day rides are private departures on the dates you choose — there is no fixed calendar to fit around and no strangers added to make up numbers.

Bikes, beds and what we expect of you
Bike options
- Bosch-powered e-MTBs with 625Wh batteries. We carry spare batteries in the support vehicle, so range is never the thing that ends your day.
- Step-through frames available — useful if you are not comfortable swinging a leg over a high top tube.
- e-Bike hire is not included in the tour price. Helmets are provided. Ask us for current bike rates.
Accommodation
- No overnight stay. This is a day tour returning to Marrakech.
Difficulty & requirements
- You need to be able to ride a bicycle. That is genuinely the only requirement.
- Minimum age 14.
- Travel insurance covering cycling is recommended.

Questions about this tour
I have never ridden an e-bike. Is that a problem?
Not at all. Most people on this tour have not. Your guide spends fifteen minutes at the start showing you the assistance modes and letting you get a feel for it on flat ground before any climbing starts.
Is this suitable for older riders?
Yes, and it is one of the main reasons people choose it. The motor removes the fitness barrier entirely. We regularly run this day for riders in their sixties and seventies.
What if the weather is bad?
We ride in light rain. It is rarely an issue in the Atlas. If conditions are genuinely unsafe we will either move your booking to another day or refund it in full. We make that call the evening before.
Can children join this tour?
Riders aged 14 and over can ride their own e-bike. For younger children, ask us about the Agafay desert day, which is flatter and shorter.
